We're a Newcastle based hip hop lot that have been going for about 5 years. Of the original members, Kompozure remains with a newer member sUpA T) who's been with us for nearly 2 years. We work with other artists that we give props to: Stiggy Smalls, Ken Masters, Image, Boogie B, Triple C and E-Quip to date. We come from a lyrical tip, with a definite slant towards hating on everything we consider to be an insult to hip hop and humanity!Band/artist history
Pretty much covered this bit, don't want to bore anyone!Have you performed in front of an audience?We've played at Mobo Unsigned in Manchester and also supported Blak Twang and Phi Life Cipher at the University Bboy Champs 2004 alongside fella toon dwellas Patta Merchants. We have a monthly live hip hop night called Stylus @ the Tanners where our resident DJs are Cat, Ken Masters, E-Quip and Mayhem, plus live guests every month. Other live acts we have had on are North Stars, Figarate, Ken Masters, Patta Merchants, E-Quip, Just Us, Novocastrians, Triple C and Jackie P, Natural Gift and the Text Offenders. We regularly gig in Newcastle, but we're itching to get more national gigs to get ourselves on the map.
Your musical influences
I think a good tune is a good tune and shouldn't be limited to genre, but there is a preference in our style towards hip hop, reggae, soul and dancehall. Artists:- Talib Kweli, Beatnuts, Mobb Deep, Erykah Badu, Bill Withers, Eek-a-Mouse, Immortal Technique, Blackalicious, Roots Manuva, Klashnekoff, Nina Simone, Outkast, Parliament, Bilal, Jean Grae, Mos Def, Common, De La Soul, Michael Jackson before '86, Al Green, Lauryn Hill before she sold out, Bounty Killer, Bob Marley, India Irie, Ghetto Boyz, Lil Kim (Tsunami's choice!!) and any amount more...What equipment do you use?
