Improving the state of contemporary music will forever be the objective of this explosive band from New England. They are not followers they are leaders. Armed with talent, integrity and a zealous vision to change the face of modern music, Tunnel Drill will restore faith and hope to the music world.Band/artist history
The thing you will notice when you first hear Tunnel Drill, is that their music doesn't conform to the contemporary formula of song writing. Most bands will try to fit as many riffs and break downs into one song as they can. The problem with this practice, is a complete album of work starts to sound all the same. One song meshes into the next, making the listener feel like "you've heard one song, you've heard them all." Tunnel Drill is the cure for this new age style of tunnel vision that has saturated the modern rock/metal scene. Each song is it's own unique story, giving the listener an experience that will maintain their attention by not boring them to death with repetition. When TD write songs, they write them as fans of music, not musicians. They maintain their integrity and originality through simplicity and a "no-frills" approach that does not alienate the average listener. All ages and different musical tastes can appreciate the raw talent and zealous vision that this band is built on. They are truly a band for the new millenium due to the fact that they are setting the trend, not following it.
Tunnel Drill is all about "CHANGE". It's time to do things a little different. The standard operating procedure has worked fine, but now, it's got to change. Now that saturation has set in from a gazillion mediocre bands, you can't just copy what other people do. We have to start all over again.
When Jason Fitzgerald left the legendary underground metal band OVERCAST, he had dreams of playing music that everyone could enjoy. After playing in a bunch of different bands Jason still wasn't satisfied. Then, being hounded by his sister Jamie, telling him "You've got to see this band!" Jason gave in and went to a TUNNEL DRILL show. He was completely blown away and immediately began trying to skeese his way into the band. IT WORKED!!!!!!
TD's first 2 years out were insane!! They recorded the Tunnel Drill E.P. and played well over a hundred shows all over New England. Their last show in the run, was to a sold out croud at The Avalon Ballroom Boston for the Emergenza Finals.
Now, Tunnel Drill is hard at work in Worcester, on their first full lenghth album "Music IS Dumb". They are shooting for a summer '06 release and it's gonna be the voice of a generation!!!!Have you performed in front of an audience?Tunnel Drill has toured all over New England. TD played to a sold out Avalon Boston, it was a dream come true.
