My name is Olatunji Mason better know as Tunji Mase. I am based in Charlotte North Carolina.
I am beat maker. I am what you called the African version of 9th Wonder, J-Dilla, Alcehmist, Pete Rock, & DJ Premier. I add lots of international sounds from Sierra Leone & Nigeria where my roots are.
Although I Charlotte is now my home, I still represent the Washington, DC metropolitanization area.

I've also lived New Carrollton (Prince George's County), MD . Living in Maryland for 8 years got me more exposed to the African community and also got me more exposed to hip hop and world music, which enhanced my musical capabilities.
Then I moved back to VA, staying briefly in Lorton
,but I still trekked back and forth to Maryland and DC until I became and official Charlotte, NC resident.
I traveled around the little bit. I've been to Sierra Leone three times, Ghana once, London England twice, Spain once and Barbados once.
Traveling kind of influences me to create the music that I make.
I make all of my music on my MPC 2000xl and I enjoy it. In the near future I looking to go into the software side of things.
