It's just me, a few guitars, some ideas and a little bit of effort.

Summertime Summertime

A fresh interpretation of a classic standard (or tired retread of a boring jazz tune) you decide. My first foray into jazz playing. Niiice!

My Big Fat Greek Shredding My Big Fat Greek Shredding

OK, it's not Big, or Fat, it's more Turkish than Greek, and there isn't much shredding in it, but I think it's still a cool title. The challenge was to write a one-chord tune. The hard part was to make it sound interesting...

Ferdinandio Carulli Duo in G, op 34 Ferdinandio Carulli Duo in G, op 34

January's collective entry. This used to be the theme to an old TV gameshow in the UK in the 70's. Originally performed by John Williams & Julian Bream. It's a lot trickier than it sounds.

Classical General

Aftershock Aftershock

A bit of a spaced-out funky/dance styled tune. The backing is a drum machine, and my first solid attempt at recording bass guitar (not easy!). Dead chuffed with the 'false ending'

Rock General

Well, welcome to my little space on Soundclick. The following musical contributions are basically concept pieces that started off as ideas thanks to the Guitarist Recording Collective (Google for it) - A great site that encourages guitarists of all ages and abilities to create their own works. Nowadays, I play in a band, so I don't have as much time for recording as I would like to, but I would recommend to any musician who feels they are not progressing to start recording, and getting music out on the internet. You probably won't become famous or rich, but once you've done it, you might just be amazed at what you achieve!
Band/artist history
About 4 years ago, I hit a brick wall with my playing. I discovered a cool guitarists community on the internet that introduced me to the collective. It wasn't a life-changing esperience, but it was the biggest breakthrough in my playing, and writing music. I was nervous and terrified that my efforts would be laughed at, but the responses I got encouraged me, and before I knew it, I was over my 'brick wall'
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play live with my band, "Corset's Knot" - We're still a newly formed covers band, but already have gigs lined up. - The best thing about the band is the total lack of egos or prima-donna syndromes that plague many bands. We're always laughing, joking and having a great time when we practice, and we have all become good friends in a short period of time. We're also able to lock in a groove pretty well too.
Your musical influences
I am currently trying to get as many genres into my playing. You may hear a little blues, funk, metal or whatever. I guess that if I lapse into a comfort zone, I become a lax player.
What equipment do you use?
Guitars: Ibanez customised JS-100 (With DiMarzio PAF Pro and FRED pickups in the neck and bridge respectvely), US Fender Lonestar fat strat, Takamine EG-10 acoustic Bass: Cort action Keyboard: Roland RS-50 Amps: Line 6 Vetta II HD with 2x12 cab Marshall VS250 valvestate combo. Boxes: Boss PW-10, Boss DD3, Ibanez TS9-DX, Marshall 'Ed' comp., Digitech Whammy Other: Pod XT, Boss DR-770 drum machine, VS-880 multitrack (Currently defunct) :(
Anything else?
Yeah. My music is just concept stuff. Don't take anything too seriously (I certainly don't), or expect sonic perfection. Criticism is welcome, but if you don't like something, please tell me why. It all helps me to improve myself as a guitar player
