Title track of the album. Tells what it's all about.

Rockabilly

The songwriter, Travis Taylor, has a great respect for the sound and feel of the past, as well as holding great admiration for the many heros of SUN Studio. With a long history as a builder of American classic cars of the '30s, '40s, and '50s, Travis appreciates the nostalgia of the past, and recognizes a need for this nostalgic feel in the present and into the future.
Band/artist history
Band members include: Travis Taylor, songwriter and vocalist inspired by the history and music of the Memphis sound. Russ Weeks, a 27-year veteran of the stage as a musician and vocalist. His talents include a variety of instruments and performing styles, as well as working behind the scenes as a producer. Tyler Weeks, Russ' 16-year old son, a veteran himself, began playing the drums professionally before he even started kindergarten. He has honed his skills since that time and has grown into a versatile and talented musician and vocalist. The band members have been friends for many years and greatly enjoyed working together on this project, as they appreciated the opportunity to record at the legendary SUN Studio.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Currently, I am working on a new project so there's not a lot of time to perform live. But we try to play as often as we can. I would like to share that the significance of recording the album, "706 Union Ave.," was not only to appreciate the nostalgic sound of the past, but also to realize a lifelong dream. And through my music, I was finally able to express my feelings of love to Kay, my best friend. She is my soulmate.
Your musical influences
Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Marty Robbins - all of the legends of Sun Studio. I also enjoy listening to a wide range of new groups and performers, but these are the original sounds that started rock and roll and have always made me feel at home.
Anything else?
We loaded our guitars and a satchel full of songs into my '57 Nomad and headed out to record at the legendary SUN Studio, 706 Union Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. The fact that we recorded at SUN is reason enough to buy this cd. And the sound from my original songs will make you feel like you are there with us in the studio where it all began. Thank you for listening to my music, and I hope that you, too, realize your hopes and dreams.
