WE ARE 2 MCS FROM THE DIRTY SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRY CALLED LOCOMBIA/COLOMBIA THAT CURRENTLY ARE RESIDING IN THE U.S.....REPPING CHICAGO & DC. TRAGIKO aka J KAPO aka JONNNY ALEMAÑIA CARNICERO07 aka SIN CERO aka Estevan PaLasquesea
Band/artist history
Colombia is a country notoriously known to many for its cocaine, kidnappings, and corruption. But indeed it's a land so rich in beauty with its mountainous landscapes, coffee fields, and beautiful women. Unfortunately Colombia is torn by a 4 decade long civil war that still persists thru today. In the U.S. and around the world a lot of Colombians and Colombo-Americans are stereotyped as Narco Traffickers or drug dealers. But one group of hip-hop artists is about to change all of that. The groups name is "Trafikantez, which is as controversial as the U.S. foreign policy on Colombia. They Both have their cultural roots ,origins, and history of rapping in the violent streets of Cali,Colombia. Tragiko took up emceeing in these streets from 1990-1994 after first having a short instance in the Miami House Music club scene in the late 1980s. And Carnicero also ignited his Hip Hop instint there from 1996-1998. While in Cali, they never crossed paths but thru their mutual Colombian conexions they met up in the U.S. Once together they had the same vision to bring Latino Hip Hop to a whole new level. Carnicero is known for having a chopped up style, like a butcher, with a raw delivery and Tragiko always has a influential impact voice on the mic. They both have had similar influences from La Fania, Hector Lavoe, Willy Colon, El Gran Combo, an array of Colombian musical roots, and not to mention a variety of hip-hop heavy weights from the likes of PUN,Nas,BIG,PAC,Beatnuts,Eminem,Rakim,Wu,KoolGRap, Mellowman Ace, Frost, Cypress Hill, and Slick Rick. While a lot of rappers brag about kidnappings, drug dealings, and fictional Scarface wannabe lifestyles these two cats want to let the whole world know that these illicit lifestyles are for real and the stories that they bring to the game are about things they are not very proud of. Thru so much turmoil about their name "Trafikantez" and their meaning, which is "Trafiking Music Worldwide", Carnicero-07 and Tragiko decided to say f*** the world we're Trafikantez and our new product of export is Narco music. As they put it, our producers lay the beats down like powdery lines ready to be snorted and we lace them with Narco-Lirics for a most satisfying consumption. This group is not like your average 3 un's artist (unknown, unsigned, underground) that reside in the same city. Tragiko lives in Chicago and Carnicero lives in Washington D.C. They meet up twice a month to write, produce, and record. These guys hop on airplanes like metro buses. Giving a true meaning to the Colombian Conexions. They have performed at Colombian festivals and events in Chicago and in Colombia. They also have collaborated with other well known artists like Los Nandez, Cartel Rebels, Dj Shabazz, Dj Killaman, Renezaunz, G. Cardona, Imperio, Sunny, Buddah Banditz, El Vizko and Donavou. With their combination of two producers, Matt Warren (a world-renowned dance producer), and D.N.A. in their first album, which came out in April 2002, they created their own staple of Latin Hip Hop. A fusion of Salsa, Colombian music, and Hip Hop. In their sophomore album they are working with beat production from the most talented underground producers assembled to date with the likes of Tony Vinyl,D.N.A.,Dj Shabazz, and Tragiko himself. In a country like the U.S. in which the latin population has become the largest minority group. And speaking Spanglish, a mix of both Spanish and English, has become a norm. Trafikantez raw style and ruthless delivery, which is as notorious as the Cali Cartel, will turn them with out a doubt into a household name and one hell of crew to be reckon with now and in the future.
