Torment Defined
Pure Evil Metal!
Torment Defined was born in 1993, arising from the depths of the musical imaginations of creator and founder Shane Underwood. As the notes were formed and the songs too were born the band found itself quickly rising through the ranks of the ever growing Dallas metal scene. "Abolishment of the Righteous" was the first demo recorded by the band in 1993 with three brutal songs demanding ears to hear, and "Abaddon Comes..." offering four more songs in a demo cut in 1994. The ears did hear and the band found itself playing crucial performances with acts like Cannibal Corpse, Pyrexia, and Sinister, as well as headlining several shows of their own in the Dallas, TX area and Oklahoma. The time came to create the first full-length album, and it was also time for for Torment Defined to change as well. In 1996 the band had recovered a completely new set of members. The new line-up with founder Underwood self-produced "Sigils of the Ancient Ones" in 1999 with a limited release in 2000. The new album procurred several headlining shows throughout the DFW area, and again Torment Defined played shows with bands like Deicide, Dying Fetus, and the Dallas Grindcore Festival with acts such as Prophecy and Devourment. "Sigils of the Ancient Ones" offered a new breed of Death and Black metal to fans. It incorporated quick brutal compositions compilated with melodic, flowing orchestral pieces to create the intensity and atmosphere that fans of both genres look for. To date Torment Defined is currently in works and rehearsals for their next full release, tentatively titled "Invading...The Tower of Catastrophe." Continuing in the same spirit as the previous release the band strives to formulate the intricate lurkings in the darkness of our minds, only to bring them forward, revealing at last what we crave, a perfect symbiosis of Pure Evil Metal!
