I Can Tell That We Are Gonna Be Friends I Can Tell That We Are Gonna Be Friends
It's the song from Napoleon Dynamite gosh!
Hi, I'm Tom. Kinda new at this whole guitar/singing thing...we'll see how it goes.
Band/artist history
Ive been playing guitar since spring 2002. The rest is just a bunch of mush really.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Kinda new at this so maybe someday I'll be playing live out somewhere.
Your musical influences
Big John Mayer fan. Gotta love Jason Mraz. Dave Matthews had a time in my life. Eric Meslinsky is a real cool dude...he's the one who basically put a guitar in my hand. Jack Johnson, The Beatles, G. Love, Dashboard Confessional, James Brown, Jack O Pierce...the list goes on.
What equipment do you use?
Takamine EG334SC acoustic
Anything else?
I appreciate comments...so comment.

not bad Tommy. now go and write your own song
cheers!
Tommy,
Thank you for the wonderfully crafted compliment on my message board. Let's see how I can encourage and compliment you :
The strumming on the guitar *do* sound good. I'm hearing you get stuck vocally on a couple of words, like 'girl' 'world' 'your' and 'father'. Sounds like a typical 'r' phonation difficulty -- something I struggled with considerably in my cover as well. :)
The staccato section in verse 2 (guitar) is really solid. Vocally I can hear a lot of heart in your singing. I think you could sing forward a bit more and use more projection.
Oh, "warmth from a woman's heart" made me MELT..... Way to apply ritards dude!
Thanks for checking me out! Let's continue to support each other -- i look forward to hearing what you do in the future!

Hey man, saw your problem on MSM and decided to pop on over for a look.
Definately like the guitar. Sounds spot on - no mistakes.
The voice, not bad. The song sounds like it might be a little to low for you (again, I'm listening in crappy lowfi *stupid dial up* so part of it is probably my computer) One thing I suggest is maybe bringing your voice up a step if you can. I do it all the time for the deep baritone songs John does.
All in all, great rendition. I LOVE this song. I also recommend that you listen Kimberly Leisters cover. She's on here too. She does a pretty sweet cover herself.
Great job can't wait to hear more :)
