Traditional European

To kråker play traditional songs and dance tunes from the North Sea area - Scotland, Ireland and Scandinavia.
Band/artist history
Pål and I started off playing Norwegian and Irish/Scottish folk-rock in Pål Pål & the Pål Pål Påls around 1990. Since then, we've stuck together and played more and more just the two of us. We've got similar ideas as to how our music should sound and don't need to discuss new tunes a lot.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, we play live. In pubs and at dances mainly in Eastern Norway, where we stay, although we did a gig in Kelso, Scotland just recently. Playing live is what makes this worth it... meeting an audience and getting the immediate feedback. Recording is just a minor thing compared to playing live.
Your musical influences
Och, I don't know. We started off playing Pogues, Waterboys and the Norwegian folk-rock band Folque and we still do, but being just the two - most of the time - and acoustic, we probably sound more like the Corries these days! "Blåmann, Blåmann" and The Old Blind Dogs are favourites.
What equipment do you use?
We play acoustically - guitar / mandolin / mandola plus vocals / whistles / accordion / bodhran.
Anything else?
When we get together to rehearse, we generally spend more time cooking than we do playing. Sometimes we have to put off rehearsing until the morning after just because we're too full...
