Abioste Abioste
Much of this song evolves from the opening bass line – including various melodies, counter-melodies, and chord progressions. (Written & performed by TJ Dowd)
Benstum Benstum
I wrote this to be the opening theme for a news podcast – hence, its brevity. (Written & peformed by TJ Dowd)
Cliomite Cliomite
Here's another short snippet prepared for a podcast theme – note the 'Evening News' vibe. My brother wrote the melody, and I did the rest. (Written by TJ Dowd and SJ Dowd; performed by TJ Dowd)
Greetings! I'm a long-time musician who is now making my way into the digital age.Band/artist history
I'm not a professional musician, but I am extremely passionate about music. As a kid, I spent much time playing the violin, tuba, electric bass, and piano. By the time I reached my 20s, I mainly played keyboards and bass. Of course, going to graduate school in my late 20s limited the amount of time that I could devote to public performance, as did being an assistant professor in my 30s.
Having reached my 40s and having attained some success and security (e.g., tenure) in my career as a professor I now have some time to return once again to music. In particular, I want to take the songs that are in my head and transfer them to MP3s and an eventual CD.
I should add that Tracy, my wife, has been (and is) extremely helpful. She gallantly supported me as I worked like a dog over the last ten years, and she's strongly encouraging me to get my music out. I'm lucky to be with her.Have you performed in front of an audience?I used to do so extensively but not anymore. I've reached the point in my musical life where I prefer to record in the comforts of my home. As a result, I’ve spent the last several years putting together a little studio.

Hi, started listening to the Jazz Fusion tracks today. I liked your Abioste a lot. Nice job.
Hi! I had a good laugh at the sick humour of "cliomite" and if you were serious about it it just makes it even more fun. Otherwise very well composed tivoli fanfare concert orchestra stuff and I added all of your three short pieces so far to my station as points ofer the i´s.
Hi Timothy,
Man your music is great. I'm inspired by it. Your studio looks great too. Lets hear some more....
Really enjoyed all the great work in "Abioste", keep em coming.
