Ticklish Brother is a 2-person band, formed in 1996 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. The core of our music is acoustic guitar and harmony vocals, combined with offbeat writing. It's fun music to make you happy! We believe in energy, commitment, authenticity, beauty, and raw vitality in music, and both our performances and CD attempt to say 'no thank you' to the compromises and bleaching of big-money commercial mainstream music. We hope you will be pleasantly surprised. Please check out our website for further information and the latest news. Thank you very much. Enjoy!Ticklish Brother formed in 1996 while both members were in their first year of the BFA Theatre program at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Two friends who get along really well, Byron and Justin began writing and performing songs together, developing a very loyal and appreciative local audience. We have a huge amount of fun writing and developing our songs, and love to perform to such enthusiastic audiences as we have been fortunate to have. Some highlights include two appearances on CBC Radio's Madly Off In All Directions, with Lorne Elliott. Our first CD, entitled "Practicality At Its Maximum" was released October 13, 2000. It was lovingly produced by Justin, and appears on the fledgling label Very Nice Records. A new album is in the works.Have you performed in front of an audience? Our musical influences are extremely varied. Byron grew up with a lot of rock -- everything from the Beatles to Slayer. Justin, on the other hand, grew up with a lot of British Folk (Pentangle, Bert Jansch), medieval and classical music. Other influences include music of pretty much every style from all over the world. We just love music!
