Frontmen Joe Mendonca and Michael Pettis developed their chemistry, in the early beginnings of Fall 2000. Soon after meeting at a local concert, the two began long garage jams, performing in bands together, and home studio recordings. Over the years, their sound evolved into what is now Thunderball Fist.
Raised in the Portland metropolitan, both Mendonca (22-years-old) and Pettis (19-years-old) have had lives nothing less than unique. Both home schooled at an early age, built an unconventional way of living. When some boys were throwing rocks, Mendonca or Pettis were imagining, creating, painting, reading. When they wanted to get in the mud, did they ever. In high school, long hours were invested into musical training, songwriting, and such. Each followed ambitions like publishing multiple zines, running an independent label, booking and managing local bands, promoting concerts, etc.
"I couldn't be more thankful for the way I was raised. It's a huge part of the way I am," says Mendonca. "I think a lot of that influences Thunderball Fist. It's not about the popular choice. It's not about what everyone else thinks works. How is that living?"
Thunderball Fist is preparing a live line up, while recording a demo series. Also in the works is an appearance on a national compilation, talks of releasing a single, and more.
