Three Word Phrase is, at the moment, three people. Andy Platek playing drums and guitar, John Aramini on bass and guitar, and Andrea Garguilo on vocals. We mostly play pop rock and occasionally goof around with other styles.
John and Andy got their start as members of the short lived band Something About Motion. They were primarily in the background, playing bass and drums respectively. Neither was prepared to take an active role in the music. The band played one gig and then ended up splitting for personal reasons. Since Something About Motion went their separate ways Andy and John have begun to come into their own as songwriters and musicians. Andrea has been around music all of her life and was originally brought on board as just a vocalist, but she is proving herself as a respectable songwriter and frequently helps John and Andy transform and tighten up their musical ideas.
We listen to everything. Personal favorites include The Beatles, Ben Folds, and the Goo Goo Dolls. From They Might Be Giants to Rage Against the Machine, we enjoy listening to everything. Our finished products, however, are (ideally) similar to Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, and Guster.
