Thin Green Candles are an strange electronic /avant-garde/ dance collective from Oxford, England. mixing computers and live instruments to make a covering of sound that scurries between techno, rock, electro and Futurepop, Fast Drums, Heavy bass spaced out guitar and dark samples all twisted together and spat back out in to a plate of synths, kaoss pad and vocals. Taking influence from early 90’s raves Mid 90’s Indie, Trip hop and Psychedelic rock our live experience is never the same twice and always lively.
Band/artist history
TGC started out in 2008 as a solo project by Fred Toon who had been a follower of the local music scene for some years. To convert the sound to a live setting Fred enlisted the help of Joe Chapman from fellow Oxford band Spiral 25 on drums plus local musicians Leigh Alexander & James Serjeant from Beaver Fuel and Drunkenstein on bass guitar and guitar. Fred has continued his solo project under the name ThinGreenFred
