The muzik will make you smile. The beat will move your soul joyfully. The lyrics will send you into deep thought. The album will transform you. The Young Elderz present their debut album : "CHILDREN of RASTAFARI" for your listening pleasure. We have worked hard to provide a form of Reggae that captures Caribbean Folk muzik dating back to the Mento muzik days while dealing with issues relevent to the here and now. The muzik preaches a doctrine of love, peace, black pride, anti-corruption and hope for the poor -- some of the teachings of the Rastafari faith. The album is a protest movement; We are voicing Our suffering. Listen to tracks like: Deliver My Soul I Don't Know Woes! They Fighting and feel the pain. We are also voicing Our joy. Listen to tracks like: Revolutionary He's Calling It's a Blessing Psalms 138 The Crossing There's a Place Spirit. There are other tracks that can be highlighted, but We will let you listen and find out more for yourselves. Jah Bless! Rastafari!
Band/artist history
We are dedicated to Afrika/BLACKNESS in the spiritual, emotional and physical sense. We are young Afrikans embodying the wisdom and strength of our ancestors and have accepted the mission to elevate minds to a Divine Power. We are spiritual warriors fighting the good fight against oppression using music as Our weapon. Since We first stepped on a stage, grabbed microphones, plugged into amps, and addressed a crowd, comparisons have been made to legends in music like The Fugees for their musical blending, Morgan Heritage for their contemporary roots reggae and Black Uhuru for their vintage Rastafarian message and sound. However, We are still unique but do recognize that Our similarities to the above mentioned allows for audiences to feel a warmth and familiarity with Us. And We appreciate their paving the way for the Young Elderz experience! We bring music with a message. The message is of social reform and spiritual evolution. You can expect to hear the Revolutionary, Righteous and Romantic from Us. We make sure Our music is enjoyable listening that uplifts and inspires- after all that's what music is about. The music has a message that invokes insight and deep introspection to all who have ears to hear. Armed with Our music and Our Rastafarian faith We are ready to take the nation on a spiritual journey in route to social change.
