Lesbionic Lesbionic

This was just a short piece I wrote for my friend Sarah. Some had mentioned the word Lesbionic which we both thought was awesome and hysterical, and I suggested that for next year's pride, she should dress up in all silver and march like a robot.

Picture for song 'guitar song (robot poetry)' by artist 'The Velvetland Band'

guitar song (robot poetry) guitar song (robot poetry)

this is a work in progress, but I really wanted to start writing with just a guitar and drums instead of the usual orchestra that I tend to go for it. I also wanted to go for a simplicity. I like it thus far. going to add some lyrics to it.

Setback (interlude) Setback (interlude)

in the song, people are applauding progress, the main character plods along (is plod a word?) and then WHAM gets shot down (but not by a literal gun. thus the setback)

Hello! and welcome to The Velvetland Band. The Velvetland Band comes to you from the tailbone of Brooklyn (New York, USA) with a wacky and infectious blend of jazz, classical, rock, funk, world music and more! Check out our website: http://www.velvetland.org/band/ (I say our - but truth be known - it's just one person :)
Band/artist history
The Velvetland Band is Michele Kaplan. I've always loved music, grew up in a family of musicians, so music was all around me, but it wasn't till the late 90's did I start to dabble in classical and jazz songwriting, but nothing too serious. In 2002, I heard an album by System of A Down and that was it. It was the final push that made me want to really get involved in music and write songs.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I would love to hear my music performed live, but alas - as of this time, I don't play live.
