HELLO! We are the Tragedies, and this is a page all about us...

Band/artist history

The Tragedies started in January 2003 with Travis and Nick who wanted to start a band, so they talked to their good friend Sam about playing with them. At the time, Sam played lead guitar, Travis played bass, and Nick played backup guitar. Also, Travis and Nick both shared the spot of lead singer. Everything was complete, except for the fact that they needed a drummer, so they talked their friend Aaron into playing drums for them. They decided originally for the name of the band to be "Cheap Charity", and they set their sites for their first performance to be at their school talent show in June 2003. They practiced extremely hard getting ready for this show, and made it through the tryouts for the talent show, and played their song for their school with great success. Soon after this, they decided to change the name of the band to "The Tragedies". After practicing over the summer, they had a show in which they played all alone at a back to school party. Right after that they had another show, again all alone, at a birthday party in Septemeber. In late November of 2003, Aaron had a falling out with the band, and so, he left. They worked their way through a few new members, until in January 2004, they decided that Sam should move to drums, and got their friend Ryan to become the new lead screamer. In February of 2004, Nick left the band, so Travis changed positions from bass to guitar, and they acquired a brand new bassist by the name of Cole, and were solidified as a four piece once again. Soon after, Nick realized that he was a dumb shit, and asked to rejoin the band. He was accepted, which made them a five piece with both Nick and Travis playing guitar... and, that seems to be the status of the band at the present...

Have you performed in front of an audience?

Of course we fucking play live! We play anywhere and everywhere that there's a show that wants us.

Your musical influences

ummm... musical inluences would have to be... probably The Unseen, The Casualties, Anti-flag, NOFX... iono... some more punk bands... Those are the most obvious ones

What equipment do you use?

Nick(me)uses: Fender Custom American Stratocaster with high distortion pickups, and a Marshall full stack with one AVT 4X12 cab, one Mode Four 4X12 cab, and an AVT 150 head. Travis uses: Epiphone Les Paul 100 and a Marshall half stack with a 1960A 4X12 cab, and a MGD 100 head. Cole uses: Musicman OLP bass with two bigass ampeg amps that are loud (sorry... don't know much more about bass stuff) Sam uses: Premier drums with Paistie and Zildjian symbols. and... Ryan uses: whatever mic we throw at him.
