The Shaking Guns are an original Rock-N-Roll band with a little bit of country, blues, & soul mixed in. (And also just a hint of old punk thrown in for good measure). The music comes off live something like ... as if the Stooges & Dolls were doing Faces, Stones & Black Crowes type tunes in the early70's ... strange but true ... read on ...
The band loves all that Southern rock & old British blues type thing, but having lived in Detroit forever, the music is also somewhat infused with that old '70's punk background which kind of just comes out a bit unconsciously and gives it a bit more of an edge.
There are some demos recorded (see link) which you can check out to get a vague idea of what the band is about, which is just some original, booze-soaked, good time rock-n-roll !Your musical influences
Main Influences
Below are listed some of the main influences for the direction the band leans toward;
The Stones (early 70's), The Faces, The Black Crowes, early Rod Stewart, Izzy Stradlin & The Ju Ju Hounds, The London Quireboys, The Diamond Dogs, The Dogs D'Amour, The New York Dolls, The Hangmen, etc., etc., etc. ...
OTHER PERSONAL FAVORITES
Rolling Stones (70's era), Keith Richards, Ron Wood, early David Bowie, Black Crowes, early Alice Cooper, early Rod Stewart, The Faces, Gram Parsons & the Flying Burrito Brothers, Izzy Stradlin & The Ju Ju Hounds, The Jayhawks, The Hangmen, Dogs D'Amour, The Diamond Dogs, London Quireboys, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams I, II, & III, Lazy Cowgirls, EmyLou Harris, Willie Nelson, The Band, Hayseed Dixie, Georgia Satelites, Thin Lizzy, Junkyard, Superbees, Deadboys, Electric Frankenstein, New York Dolls, Kiss, Richmond Sluts, Nikki Sudden, T. The Shaking Guns truly love all the bands listed above, especially the main influences. But, with that being said, the band plays all original tunes. The above list is there just to represent where the band is coming from. There may be one or two covers thrown into the set, but they will usually be on the more obscure side ... you won't be hearing "Jealous Again" or "Start Me Up" here.Anything else?
