The Rounders are; Brad (front man) & his trusty sideman, J.P.
Brad’s History: As the son of two jazz musicians, I used to sleep under my dads grand piano at home as a very young child. I never learned to play piano, but always wanted to. I chose drums as my musical outlet. The transition from drums to guitar wasn’t as hard as it may sound. The guitar had always just been there, all along, even when I was a drummer. I always owned a guitar as far back as age 14 I think. Playing the drums kept me mellowed out, and playing the guitar kept me sane. Sometimes, if someone didn’t show up for band practice I’d end up jamming on guitar. I had been a drummer since the age of 12 and been successful in several bands in the southern Indiana area in the 70’s. I moved to Europe fresh out of high school, and drummed my way into local Swedish bands such as Company Stone and Powerhouse.
J.P. History: J.P. Also comes from a musical background. He’s a stable musician with a lot of experience on keyboards and guitars. Nobody knows much about him other than that. He never talks about his past. Actually he never talks unless someone speaks to him first. He keeps his answers short. Nobody knows what the fuck is wrong with J.P. and nobody cares anymore. He never misses a gig, and he’s always on time. He never drinks & he doesn’t smoke. We know he likes young women. Really young. (Warning: Mothers, lock up your daughters when we come to town.)
We play live in smokey bars in southern Sweden. We play year round. We need it to survive. Nothing can stop us.
We are influenced by all music that is not influened by the whole punk movement. Blues rock and soul, southern rock and blues, too.
We use Martin, Takamine, Höfner & Washburn guitars, Peavy Amps, Electro-voice mics and speakers, Nilton stands, and Ikea barstools.
Our music show is 100% live:
Just like food at the grocery store, we think music is better freshas opposed to canned. The term ‘canned music’ refers to music that is computerized or pre-recorded.
Here's my theory:
If the fuses all blow, or if lightning strikes and there is a blackout, we can just light candles and keep on rocking. If we had all those electronic crutches, we’d have to sit in silence with the rest of the folks. I like that feelingknowing that it’s raw music and talent driving us, and not whether or not we can program a lame backing track. We want to play the music not let the music play us. The Rounders travel around Sweden playing originals and covers consisting of blues, blues-rock, pop, and rock-&-roll.
