Band/artist history
Formed in late 2004 by guitarist/songwriter Erik Andrew (1981. Chicago,IL) and singer/ songwriter Raquel (1979. Houston, TX). In 2004 Raquel came to Chicago to take advantage of musical opportunities that the "windy city" had to offer. A long-time performer and veteran of the stage, Raquel sets the overall tone for the music with her laid-back and often stirring vocals. In the winter of 2004 work began on the soon-to-be released debut album, "Cut", with the gracious help of veteran keyboardist Eric Ragno, local guitar hero Dave Kohut (who also produced the record) and the highly respected Shane Riley on drums. Setting images of love-lost, heartbreak, sadness, alienation and dispair along side those of love, hope and happiness; Raquel's vocals lead an effort to take the listener through a rollercoaster of emotion while the musical backdrop brings these torments and delights to life. A statement in grandour and subtlety, "Cut" aims to touch upon as many emotions as possible. This debut album is tentatively slated for release in September of 2005.
