We are 5 kids from Romeoville Illinois that love punk music and love to rock n roll.WE do it for fun and to get somewere in life.Band/artist history
It all started with Donny and Scott, they were best friends for many years and always watched Donny's dad play in the garage and say how cool it would be to be in a band. When Scott was about 10 he moved away to Joliet, yet him and Donny still kept in touch. One day Donny invited Scott to spend the night and since Scott got his hands on his first guitar, he figured him and Donny could jam. It was a Danelectro half acustic, with lipstick pickups. Needless to say, it wasn't the greatest but Scott can thank it for getting him started. So as time progressed Donny and Scott starting jamming to the Papa Roach cd and the Lit cd but it wasnt all that fun since Donny only had an elcetronic drum set. After awhile Donny got his second real drum set a, Tama Rockstar kit, it was a beauty. Being the eager rockstars they were they named the band with out even having a bassist, and then they declared the name Struggle. They started making cheesy demos with Punk Prison- Destination-Cassie-and Treasure. After that they were in need of a bass player. Donny's freind Billy just happend to get a bass for his birthday and an amp. They were together for about 2 months and recorded a 2 track with Destination and Punk prison. It sounded pretty good, and alot of people liked it. As time progressed Billy never showed up to practice so Donny and Scott got all over him for it and both Donny and Scott quit Struggle. After about a month of searching for the right guys to join the band, they started jamming again just Donny and Scott. Once again they were in diar nead of a bassist, so they set up a jam day, to hear some of the tallent that was there. They had a new base player come try out his name was Mike, ,and he was a pretty good a lot better then Billy(being the only bass player that wasn't gay he was in the band.) That same day John Spence came for the singing postion and brought his friend Nick along. Since the band had no other choice Mike and John were in the band. The band decided they need another guitar player and thats were Nick stepped in. The band was going to be jamming over at Scott's house, and they figured why not let try out. So after two days of being a band they were offered a gig, being eager to play they all sayed yes to the chance. John, not having experiance as a singer, just wasn't cutting it so the band had to let him go. Nick and Donny flipped, and Nick was now the drummer. Donny was singing and Nick played drums and they both worked a lot better then before. So when this happend the band practiced more and worked harder the drums, guitars, and vocals were a lot better then before. The band needed a name and had lists of stupid names like Little Yellow Bus-Terror for Laughter and so on, but then Scott came up with the idea to call it ThE MiNoRs (as a joke) and it was gay at first but we kept it and now its just awsome. Now the band was in need of gigs they had everything they needed so they got there gigs first being at The Romeoville Rec center and it was a great show for there first show live as a band and there second show StrawBerry Fest in Plainfield. The band thought there was something missing and there was and it was a Demo. They went to a place in Chicago called Cosmic Dragon Studios and were introduced to the studio and it was very nice and very expensive but the guy gave them a good deal and they agreed. So the following week we went and recorded their first real demo (Smokey Der Klown) this demo included-Punk Prison-70 MpH-Destination-Plaid Pants- and Moshpit it was a great first demo but not as good as they expected for the money and services. The band immediatly started selling there demos untill they sold out. A bunch of people said Moshpit was a good song and the demo was awsome. After all of this they need a second guitar player and found Derek Rehbock he was an awsome guitar player and learned all of the songs very quickly. After this they got a gig at a party at Nick Manders the people didnt like Punk music but they liked them. After this they practiced everyday right away when summer came to prepare for their first CD. The day came when they went and finished their first album (Teenage side of Life) its a 12 track cd which should be out in mid july. They're almost done with their cd and they have all learned alot hanging out with each other and wrighting meaningfull music that means something to them. Donny and Mike didnt get along to much and it almost caused the band to split but they are working things out and hopefully they are becoming better freinds.Scott owens quit and the minors were lookinf for a new guitarist and came across Brandon Rosko and hope it will stay.Have you performed in front of an audience?we play live at local partys-and local fests and one gig in chiago Oasis 160.
