Introduction to your band:
By band you mean me. I just love playing guitar and have been addicted for 4 years now. I know I am not that good and don't pretend to be something I'm not, it's just me messing around and trying to make some songs that sound half decent.
I had always wanted a guitar since I was a kid, I used to mess around with my dad's acoustic, but I didn't know what to do or how to play a note so I used to just pretend I was playing along to my CD's, my dad didn't know how to play either.
I then pestered my mother for a guitar for years at Christmas and birthdays, but just like everything in my life, she thought it would go in a corner and never get played after 5 minutes, and she was probably right.
There is then a big gap until my 21st birthday in March 2007 when I was reflecting on my under achieved life and decided I was going to buy an acoustic guitar. I bought one on ebay for 30 and began the process of learning how to fret a note, then by the end of the first day I had learned the G chord. By the end of the second day I had learned D and C chords and could therefore learn thousands of songs with these three chords.
I got bored with just playing chords along with songs and started to explore the Pentatonic scales and around that time I started to discover blues music. It was now November 2007 and I decided I wanted to make the leap to electric guitar. On Dec. 1st 2007 I bought my first electric guitar, a Westfield E4000LH in Black, a Les Paul copy. It was 165 with a 20w amp and some accessories.
So thats where my electric journey started, learning to play the pentatonic blues scale. I now play several hours everyday and after 4 years of my addiction to the guitar I'm still as dedicated as ever.
I have now joined a band and we are called Black Jackal.
I play live at on a regular basis at an open mic night in a local pub, I suppose I would be the house guitarist for it and play for anyone who wants to sing. I love playing live and will be starting regular gigging this year hopefully.
The three biggest influences that I hear when I play are Peter Green, Gary Moore & Luther Allison
