Bio - The start of The Human Effect
'Gravity' is the first release off the self recorded/produced E.P by Timothy Kroon, hailing from the eastern cape. At 19 years old, Tim has Fronted many popular rock bands in and around the eastern cape, including The recent 'Curious George'. Over the years, passion and drive for progressive rock music has put Tim in the position to now write, record and produce his own material while studying at the University of Cape Town. It takes dedication to create music in this way, since it requires that you perform the part of every member of the band, however, The Human Effect has a very talented set of live musicians.
"I came from a very alternative background, so from the beggining i was listening to Soundgarden, pearljam etc which led on to artists like NIN and Filter of recent days. These guys really push the boundries, and inspire me. I am indebted to their exploration of music." - Tim
Tim and Mike (brothers) played in bands together since they were able to walk. Mike spent all his days from age 11 onward behind the drumkit, hohning his unique edgy style. No one is quite as dedicated, commited and truly passionate musicianship than Mike Kroon. On the polar opposite, it is hard to find a more committed and perservering artist and songwriter, as Tim. "I am an outright perfectionist" says Tim about music. "If it's not perfect, its not good enough." It's easy to hear this in the music, a solid, calculated and soulful collection of hohned songs, that communicate in a way slightly different way to the rest.

The Human Effect is currently in the process of building a live act. Recently, Tim got together with bass guitarist Justin Sanan (ex-'Arnaz') to start work on the upcoming stage band for T.H.E. Plans are being laid for the ultimate in live band audio, with a full rock stage spectrum of musicians.
The Human Effect is a persuasive, and honest manifestation of the thoughts That drive the music. "'Gravity' is written in a way that allows every piece of the song to be unique, it allows for a vast array of feeling in a 3 and a half minute track. You can understand this, given that the song was written and recorded over a 3 month period. If you had to ask what the song is about, well the lyrics are written in the same way, every line touches on another corner, it all contributes to the same overall concept of losing control." -Tim
