Just your average "I just broke up with my girlfriend and I'm bummed as hell" kinda song.
I am The Duke...I'm a singer/songwriter/guitarist/drummer/drycleaner to the stars,etc....I used to be a drummer for many bands and decided that it was time I conquer the world with MY music.That I step out in front and bare my twisted soul. I'm not the best singer, not the best songwriter but I write from the heart. I don't want people to pay attention to me as a person. I want them to pay attention to my music. I just want to write songs that you can sit in your room or car or wherever and say "hey, I relate to that..." Like me, don't like me, I really don't care...I'm doing this mostly for myself. My name is The Duke, I've been a musician since I was 8 years old (23 now) I'm a drummer suffering from the all too cliche "frontman stuck in a drummers body" syndrome. After playing in bands with "F" for the past 7 years or so I decided to go out in front."F" is my musical partner in crime so it's without hesitation that I share my "solo" career with him. He is currently my producer/writing partner/live guitarist. I left my last band as a drummer in 2000 and began my "solo" career in early 2002.Have you performed in front of an audience?I've played live as a drummer, but not a solo person....but soon...oh yes, very soon.....
Your musical influences
My musical tastes are so different that I'm not sure if it's completely represented in my songs. To name a few....Metallica, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, anything by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sarah Mclachlan, Mozart, Bach, Queen, Pink Floyd, Kenny Rogers and so on and so forth.Anything else?
I'm a pretty private person and I'm definitely not writing music to be a star...that's not to say I don't want to be succesful with my music. I just want people to get to know my music and not so much me.Contact
