The drifter is a roots and country performer from Belgium, Europe. He plays solo or in combination with the Sundance girl (a.k.a. inneke 23 from the bossen, lipstick painters etc.) They played numerous gigs starting at the Wonderfestival, Antwerp, Elephantasia festival Amsterdam. More recently the drifter played in the Berlinale off festival and was invited by radioshow host Nourri Ben Redjeb for a live session on radio Brandenburg Berlin during the international film festival. With Inneke he also plays in many barrooms and roadside taverns. Next stop is Paris.Anything else?
About the songs
The songs by the Drifter on myspace were all recorded in a single session on 20/03/2006. The Drifter having spent the night in the legendary Black Jack Café, and the recording gear not being all up to date, it resulted in a somewhat vintage recording of the songs.
"Black Jack Boulevard" was written in 2002. "fighting time" and "your love won't set me free" are more recent songs. Other, more elaborate versions will soon appear on this site.
"On a hill lone and gray" is a cover of the traditional.
