Imagine Rock'n'Roll stripped down to it's bare bones, peeling off all glamorous, glittery garnish, the pompous attitudes, and the Smokie-like tempo!
That's The Corndogs!
The Corndogs consists of Bjørn Egil Ragnarsen aka Begil (vocals, guitar), Kjetil Volden (bass, vocals) and Cato Holmen (drums).
The Corndogs has since day one played explosive Rock'n'Roll, and with influences from everything that's cool, it's hard to pinpoint the exact location in the world of genres in which we reside.
But fear not, ignorantés! You can download our music from our website! And even some here! So go ahead, and if you're someone who's someone, get in touch. By someone, we refer to label owners, venue owners, potential groupies etc.
That's our life story. Now, be on your way. Shush!
We started playing early 2004, but then with a different drummer, and a different name. First we did one demo (simply called: The Rascals - Demo), and later on, one more (The New Rascals - In Mono).
OK, let's start with the names.. First we decided to go for The Rascals. We knew there was an old band called The Rascals, but we didn't think they were that big. But, we found out they were huge.. So we needed a new name! So we chose The New Rascals. (Actually we found out later that one of the members of the original The Rascals started a new band called The New Rascals, but they were so small it didn't matter.) After a while, we changed our drummer, and we thought that was a good oppurtunity to change our name again, cause we never really liked "The New Rascals". So finally we ended up with The Corndogs.
Not much more to tell.. We've played some shows, with eg. The Bamboo Kids, We, The Mormones and more.
Yep. Whenevere we get the chance. We'd play anywhere actually, so give us a call or a mail if you want us to play somewhere!
The Mooney Suzuki, Rancid, New York Dolls, The Ramones, Dead Kennedys
