The Choir Boys band consists of several musicians involved in the praise and worship team at a Methodist Church in Newport News, Virginia. The band was created as an outlet to record and perform original music.
Band/artist history
The band got together at the end of a Christmas Party in the host's garage in December 2003. One of the members had written some original songs and was interested in putting together a demo CD. The garage now serves as the rehearsal space and recording studio for the band.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
The band has perfomed new material at a Methodist Church in Newport News as part of church services and during shows to raise funds for church-sponsored missionaries. The church is a great place to debut new songs.
Your musical influences
The band has an array of musical influences including CCM artists such as Third Day as well as a fondness for 60s era folk, rock, and surf.
What equipment do you use?
Our guitar players like Godin, Takamine, Fender and Alvarez. In addition to the old "Ringo Starr" drumset in the garage, the drummer plays Mapex, Tama, and Roland (electronic) sets.
Anything else?
Although we have written and performed several songs, we will add them to this site as demos once relatively good recordings are available.
