The Ceiling Fan

The Ceiling Fan brings a lot to the table with Mike Arone and his lyrical piano style, along with Scott Sweeney and his melodic guitar methods. Both guys take inspiration from songwriting greats like Simon & Garfunkel and the Beatles, but also rock out to The Who, The Allman Brothers Band, and countless others. Scott’s six-string creativity comes from many moves, ranging from Miami to DC and the spaces in between, along with several school and lifestyle changes. After a couple of bands, solo seemed to be Scott’s indefinite direction, until meeting up with Mike, equipped with a passionate approach to lyricism and a gift for harmony. Mike’s been playing piano for ten years and has dabbled in a couple of bands until concentrating on The Ceiling Fan. He has a love for jazz, and not-so-much a love for “bad lines” in songs. Together, these guys craft hooky, distinctive songs with a unique blend of sound and soul that ultimately is The Ceiling Fan.

We're a new band so we haven't played anywhere live yet. Once out of school we'll be playing live as often as we can, anywhere we can.
Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, John Mayer, Stevie Ray(our idol), Santana, Bonnie Raitt, BB King, Three Doors Down, Matchbox Twenty, Five for Fighting, Stevie Wonder, The Allman Bros. Band, Joni Mitchell, The Goo Goo Dolls, Paul Simon, Los Lonely Boys, The Beatles, anybody that rocks
"Ok. We dont play techno, but I can rock out the techno on the beast that is my keyboard. Its like a freakin computer." the Mike
Thank you to Jesus, our homeboy, thanks to our mommies for having us, thank you to the Gods of Rock for letting life be so kickass, and thank you to music. Oh yeah, also thanks to the people who have invented instruments.
hey guys... keep up the great work. scott, i saw you put me under people you admire. definitely means a lot to me since you're a better guitarist and lyricist than i am already. and you're like what... 6 or more years younger? :) anyways, i love the songs guys, especially "the man"... but all of them are great to listen to.
i wish you the best of luck in the future and if we never write a song together, may god strike us down and then kick us while we're down. and then spit on us. while we're down. okay i'm done.
:-Di do enjoy the music, indeed. keep it up, and dont give up. because then, you would be wussies. and rock has no place for you anyway. got it? good. :)Hey, guys!
I found you quite by accident, and boy am I glad I did! I LOVE your music! Interesting lyrics, strong and clear vocals...I have been enjoying your songs all night! Your somewhat eclectic stylings made it difficult to choose a favorite because they were all so unique. Oh, but how I did like "The Man."
Peace & blessings,
