The Knockaholixs premiere producer, SYZ, have well over 8 years of music production, and sound engineering skills under his belt. The music that unfolds from his collection of beats effortlessly mixes a brand of grimey hip hop with updated sounds of timeless classics. Originally hailing from Massachusetts, SYZs musical background began at a young age when his father encouraged him to play classical piano. His fate was sealed later in his teens when he first picked up a music production program called Fruity Loops. Weaned on bands such as Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder from his parents, SYZ later fell in love with the sounds of N.W.A., Ice Cube, Jay-Z and E-40. SYZ relocated to Oakland after graduation and dabbled with different groups including Kali Konfined and Kitchen Labb as an emcee and a producer. After a period of fronting Kali Konfined, SYZ eventually decided to go his own way.
Christmas Eve 2004, upon moving back to Sacramento, SYZ bumped into stellar emcee and longtime childhood friend 006. Born and raised in Sacramento, 006 cites Ice Cube, Eazy-E and E-40 as influences. Pursuing his dream as an emcee, 006 circuits the underground rap battles and made a name for himself as one of Sacramentos most talented unsigned hype. With an organic blend of lush, nonfiction drenched lyrics, razor sharp rhymes and unique personality, 006 is a welcome breath of fresh air in todays commercially cluttered rappers.
Soon after the reunion of SYZ and 006, the now inseparable two spent countless nights producing, mixing and recording their music. SYZ produced the neck snapping beats, and 006 provide the thought provoking lyrics. Add knocking beats and hard lyrics, mix it together with two unique personalities and you will get their debut album, The Knockalations. The chemistry between them could be heard track after track off their innovative, critically acclaimed debut album.
