This is actually two songs recorded live using a portable minidisc, sorry for the unedited gap between songs.

Hollywood, are you listening?(Jan Michael Vincent) Hollywood, are you listening?(Jan Michael Vincent)
Sorry about the long intro, skip to 1:00 in to avoid it. This was recoded live with a portable minidisc, so the fidelity isn't great, but it gives you the idea of what it was like...

Experimental Groove Rock
Band/artist history
Formed in late 2001, Sykotropik is an exciting new rock band from Kansas City. The backbone of the band is the bond between drummer Jesse Rozof and Guitarist Jason Curteman, who wanted to form a band that combined hard rock with funk, jazz and the blues to create something new and exciting to play. They quickly enlisted the aid of classically trained bassist Dave Swiercinsky and began to write songs. The concept was to ignore boundaries and use the music to explore new ideas. After having several friends audition for the singer role, they met vocalist Erik Schmutzler through a musicians wanted ad and completed their lineup. We wanted to paint pictures and tell stories with our music, said Rozof. Erik was able to do that both by interpreting songs we had already written and by bringing his own unique material to the table.
With the lineup solid, they began to polish their songs and write new material. While trying to define a sound they discovered that they had created an eclectic collection of songs that ranged all over the musical landscape from three-minute pop tunes to spiraling free form jazz epics. It gets tedious playing the same thing over and over again, explained Curteman. We like having lots of different styles to choose from because it keeps us from getting bored and we end up with a variety of songs that appeal to a lot of different people.
The name, Sykotropik, reflects the feeling they get from playing together and the effect the music has on those who hear it. We want to bring that same energy that we feel when we play to the people that listen to us, said Schmutzler. Like any artists, we hope to convey emotion and change peoples minds about us for the better. If we can create a positive mind altering effect for our audience, were happy.
With a recording due out in early 2002, Sykotropik are poised to expand their presence on the music scene by playing more live shows. Were all experienced musicians, said Swiercinsky, we have pro gear and enough PA to run our own sound in small clubs. Any club that gives us a chance will not be disappointed with our show or our professionalism.
