Survay Says! is an nine-piece ska/rock/punk collective based in Blairstown, New Jersey. Consisting of friends including a couple of sets of brothers, the members have known each other as far back as 16 years. Although they take their band duties and ambitions seriously, they primarily function as a big group of buddies, priding themselves for being friends first and band-mates second.
As such a big band, their musical influences are very diverse, ranging from all points in the ska world (traditional & reggae) into the world of punk rock, even taking some of their queues from 70’s and 80’s classic rock.
Survay Says! understands that their particular brand of music isn’t exactly the mainstream sound, but they are just fine with that. Their goal is to have fun playing the music they love with the people they love and see what kind of splash they can make in their scene.
What Survay Says! believes sets them apart from other acts is their fresh and energetic stage show, original music, use of humor, and their great desire to channel their verve to their audience so as to achieve the maximum amount of fun to be had by all!

All recording & mixing gets done on my Tascam DP-02CF. I do leveling, placement, effect sends, and a few EQ parameters on that. Any other processing gets done in Pro Tools, meaning outboard effects, compression, & EQ. I also have an Alesis 8-track mixer that i used as an effects module.
For vocals we use an MXL cardioid condenser mic and for instruments with out pick-ups we a Shure SM57.
