Growing up listening to the likes of Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and other legendary performers from all eras and genres would have a profound impact on any aspiring artist, and such is the case with South East DC lyricist Supa Dave (Mr. Incredible). The fact that his parents displayed a profound respect for soulful music was not lost on him. In fact he says, "it is driving force behind all of my music". An 80's baby, Supa witnessed the devastating effects that drugs, violence and poverty had on his DC neighborhood and the world around him. Dealing with these issues at a young age left little room for childhood innocence, but in the midst of the anger and confusion, he found music and more specifically hip-hop as a means of comfort and escape. It was at that time that he discovered his natural lyrical ability. When he began writing and producing songs in high school, this sparked a passion for creating music that continually grew until his sophomore year at Howard University when he decided to leave school and focus, more directly, on his new career goals. Now preparing to release his 2nd full length CD entitled S.E. Baby, Supa has put together a collection of gritty street anthems, deep introspective narratives, and hype club bangers that will stand up to any of the hottest artist of today while maintaining the soulfulness that has, for years, defined truly great artists. Influences include but not limited to: Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Outkast, Jay -Z, Wu-Tang, 2pac, Biggie, Bone Thugs -n- Harmony, And the list goes on and on and on.......
