4 Piece punk band set to be making crowds shout OI OI OI at a venue near you!Band/artist history
Since their inception in 2000, UK quartet Submerse has been busy refining their own take on punk music.
With harsh vocals reminding you of the ‘77 movement and catchy tunes, which could challenge that of Blink182, Submerse provide a much-needed boost of energy into the UK punk scene.
Submerse sees music as a force for social change. A story lies behind each song they write. This conveyed live on stage with memorable lyrics and fierce musical strength ensures the band never fail to attract new fans at every show.
Previous Submerse songs have drawn attention to many themes including police misconduct, the homeless, class segregation, media pressures and the failures of the government. Reviews of their CDs have been positive which has in turn attracted support and airplay from both regional and national radio stations within the UK.
Numerous live appearances and tours have helped sharpen the band’s assault over the past five years. Supporting the likes of Anti Nowhere League, Violent Delight, 4ft Fingers, Winnebago Deal and Zen Baseballbat; as well as self-funding headline tours in both the UK and Canada, Submerse are a band set to stay on the road in the foreseeable future.
These punk-teens put in 100% hard work and effort. Now they can see that it is starting to pay off. With rising popularity and a rising street-team membership the profile of Submerse is set to skyrocket over the next year.

What others have to say about Submerse..
“Hadn't heard of this lot before now. Very promising material from Oxfords’ rising talent. The songs are catchy raw and fast. The sound verges on '77 punk crossed with Pennywise and Rancid. They actually sound a lot like a modern Sex Pistols. The vocals are that style but the guitar work has a slightly more modern feel. I'm quite impressed actuallyThey're not following the mainstream and the result is innovative and shows talent. Good choruses, crashing guitars, straight up, in your face punk rock. Like it!” CD review taken from Punknews
“Grass roots punk styles from one of the few ‘punk bands’ that actually are punks gives them an obvious advantage, as its plain to see they didn’t jump on the band wagon when ‘All The Small Things’ was released by Blink182, like of tonight’s audience. The vocalist is a true punk singer, and the band are good hardcore punk musicians.” Live review taken from Cultofthedonkey
“All dressed in their trademark Rancid t-shirts, they hit the nail on the head as far as image goes - and attitude, of course! These guys are not exactly what you would call... how can I put this...? ...."smooth."
They flail through their set with the energy of the dysfunctional adolescents that they are, and they're loving it all the way. Loads of speedy, distorted, palm muting and influences from classic punk tracks shine through. Even losing their second guitarist to technical problems doesn't seem to bother them and they carry on as a three-piece. These guys are a laugh. “ - Live review taken from Oxfordbands
“What can I say? These guys fuckin’ rocked. With their Rancid sound and all round entertainment they pulled the crowd off their arses and whipped them into a writhing pit. The vocals (shared between Ed, James and Ash) were great. The songs were fast and heavy, and between songs there was jokes and encouragement from Ash. They really seemed to transform the whole gig, and you feel that the boys do it because they love it. I really loved the atmosphere and as I said before, THEY FUCKIN’ ROCKED!!” Live review taken from CJ Rock
“This is the new EP from Oxford’s very own band Submerse. This release is more their own take on ’77 style Punk, and it turns out wonderfully. Their last CD was more pop punk but this release has a much more refined sound and in my opinion this style really brings out the best in them ‘Axe ‘em’ has a very catchy beat to it and it is one of those songs that gets stuck in your head for weeks on end! The vocals are awesome on this track and the guitar riff is very strongThis is a really cool Punk EP” CD review taken from Alt-UK
“Before the set, the band had gone through roughly 14 cans of Special Brew and heckled abuse at everyone on tonight’s bill so some lewd behaviour is expected and all the aggression is taken out on the instruments in some great songs. Some little shit has nicked my seat which doesn’t amuse so I sample the moshpit first-hand and come out with a certain dizziness about me, there’s quite a few more punks here than last nights courtyard gig, and their no holds barred pit style seems to win them many a tough mosh.” Live review taken from Cultofthedonkey
“Oxford’s Submerse have, once again produced a very promising demo. The modern '77 style mixed with their own touch of originality leads to a good listen.” CD review taken from Punknews
“..they were followed by Submerse (Oxford), another young band who would be my tip for the future if they work hard and practise hard. They are very similar to Dog Shit Sandwich and one of their set highlights was "Summer Lovin’"- a la Grease. A brilliant punk version, from these young guys, I was well impressed with them” Live review taken from PunkoiukAnything else?
