New Song and Video "Listen to the Girl" a lesson for younger people. The best way to get to know someone is FACE to FACE. The Human Way.
The Stray Dawgs are from Plantation, Florida. Lew Dawg Cloninger is the founding member and plays guitars and sings (many people refer to it as hollering). Founding member Steve Sallaz plays bass, sings and also does most of the mixing and mastering of our recordings. He also plays a variety of percussion instruments. We have many other musician friends that help us out at live shows as well as recording. Huge thanks go out to Susan Ivory Blue who has played piano and organ on many of our recordings and gigs. Also special thanks to Lew Knapper for his help with Texas blues harp on many of our songs.

Story behind the song
A friend of mine is really bright, well educated and well traveled. He has not however had good luck with relationships with women. A lot of romances for him started strong but fizzled soon after. This song is about his realization that he may be at least part of the problem and the hope that the real thing will finally come along and stick.
Lyrics
V1 In all my time, I've always chose to live my life and to live it free. No woman ever came close. It was the freedom I chose. Now I realize my problem is me. I saved up my money and I bought a little place. It ain't no mansion. Could be home sweet home. But without you honey, it don't matter bout the money. I'm sittin like a king with no throne. Chorus Is really you this time? Or is it just another dream? Will turn and drift form me like falling leaves into a stream? Darlin please don't fade away. Life's so much shorter than it seems. Is it really you this time? Or is it just another dream? solo Bridge Just another dream. Darlin say you'll stay. Cause life's too short to be waiting for some day. Baby, baby, baby, tell me you're for real. Cause this old boy ain't got no time to kill. V2 I think i'll go down to Flossie's in my ragtop car. It's my kind of place; my honky-tonk bar. When sun goes down, I'll be knockin back rounds but they won't take me to the place where you are. All my tiki trash buddies, they try to console me. After all these years, they pretty well know me. Though they try their best, you know I just can't rest and if I catch you I won't never let go. Chorus repeat twice Is it really you this time (repeat twice) Or is it just another dream.
