Born and raised in the Deep South, and the son of a preacher, music has always been in my life. I studied composition, guitar performance, and music production at colleges in Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee. Since then I've played guitar professionally for nearly 30 years - in Nashville, for the Air Force, and in Southeastern Tennessee. I recently retired from the US Air Force after 20 years as a bandsman (guitarist), and now my family and I live in Cleveland, TN where I teach music at area colleges.
Although I have played the electric guitar quite a bit over the years, my acoustic guitar is the one I most often have in my hands these days. I love to create solo guitar arrangements of pop and jazz tunes, and I also use a looping pedal - which greatly increases my repertoire.Have you performed in front of an audience?I have performed all over the world for many years. Since moving to Cleveland in the summer of 2015, my primary focus has been teaching. I have begun to step out into the local music scene and hope to perform more often in the near future.
Your musical influences
I am greatly influenced by Tommy Emmanuel, Pat Metheny, Mike Oldfield, Finn Brothers, Claude Debussy, Beethoven, Broadway, Tarrega, and the Beatles, just to name a significant few.
