Born and raised in the Deep South, and the son of a preacher, music has always been in my life. I studied composition, guitar performance, and music production at colleges in Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee. Since then I've played guitar professionally for nearly 30 years - in Nashville, for the Air Force, and in Southeastern Tennessee. I recently retired from the US Air Force after 20 years as a bandsman (guitarist), and now my family and I live in Cleveland, TN where I teach music at area colleges.
Although I have played the electric guitar quite a bit over the years, my acoustic guitar is the one I most often have in my hands these days. I love to create solo guitar arrangements of pop and jazz tunes, and I also use a looping pedal - which greatly increases my repertoire.
I have performed all over the world for many years. Since moving to Cleveland in the summer of 2015, my primary focus has been teaching. I have begun to step out into the local music scene and hope to perform more often in the near future.
I am greatly influenced by Tommy Emmanuel, Pat Metheny, Mike Oldfield, Finn Brothers, Claude Debussy, Beethoven, Broadway, Tarrega, and the Beatles, just to name a significant few.
