Standpoint
*Minnesota Hardcore*
Standpoint was born in Waseca, Minnesota in an original group of friends to put forth a new excursion into the music scene. With some member changes the band solidified to launch itself into more exposure through shows, touring, and recording a cd. The self-titled cd was recorded at The Terrarium in the twin cities with engineer Tommy Roberts. Standpoint rocked Minnesota in the mid 90's with the line-up of Will on Vocals, Zach on Drums, Kelly on Guitar, Rich on Guitar, and Mike on Bass.
After member changes, the band went over old material to decide what to keep and what to change, and then created new material in addition to the revised catalog of tunes. The band churned out new songs and then hit the clubs and basements to play shows and get sweaty and express their views and bond with the scene. The cd was then recorded in the Twin Cities with veteran engineer Tommy Roberts.
The group played several live concerts at locations including Waseca, Mankato, Minneapolis, Northfield, and Madison.
Early hardcore and straight-edge influences as well as punk rock and metal music. Burn, Minor Threat, GB, Slapshot, Shelter, Slayer, Metallica, Black Flag, Rollins Band, Danzig to throw out a few.
We used what we could get our hands on....but maybe some of these include Yamaha drums, BC Rich guitars, Charvel guitars, headless bass, etc.
To everyone who has ever supported us in the past and in the future- Thanks!
