Electro Industrial band Spaceghost? features 2 members, Tigger(Vocals, guitar, programming) and Thom(Vocals, keyboards, bass guitar and programming) the band has been established since 1999 and works in a haphazard way. Sometimes work is individual, sometimes collaboration (in person and over the net.) Spaceghost? hail from the North-West of England, specifically Blackpool and Manchester.
Band/artist history
Spaceghost? began in 1999 when Thom met Tigger outside an art gallery in Manchester. The name came from an interview that Thom had seen of Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids where Twiggy Ramirez said nothing but "Spaceghost?" when asked if he thought Marilyn Manson was being used as a scapegoat. The American cartoon of the same name was not a factor in the name. Over the next couple of years, the duo remained the core of the band which fluctuated between musical styles and entertained a variety of musicians before settling on a simple 4 members : Thom [vocals, percussion & programming], Tigger [vocals & programming], Robin [vocals, guitars & programming] and Rachel [bass guitar] After gaining mild interest from Digital Hardcore Records, they independantly released their first EP Bad Mistake? [later renamed Eponymous]. It turned out that it was...for personal reasons Spaceghost? disbanded in the summer of 2001. During the summer, Thom formed The Sound Of Breathing - a solo project of random noises and sweeping soundscapes, wrote one album but it was never released. Meanwhile, Tigger isolated himself and wrote Box. This got the creative juices flowing once more and Spaceghost? continues as the original core. Over the last two years a few additional artists have been drafted in to help; most noticable is Banphrionsa who performed the vocals on Arrogant from the Adventures in Noise EP. Thom's wife, Jen, also appears on Santa Baby, an industrial cover version of Eartha Kitt's Christmas classic.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Hoping to develop a live band soon when Tigger is back in Manchester full time.
