Just a little diddy by Billy and John. Kind of a combination of John's blues roots and Bill's folky Southern Rock stuff.
The South Georgia Overdrive Band (TSGOB) is an assemblage of Southern-minded musicians from the St. Louis area that do hot-blooded versions of intolerable kinds of pussy rock. They specialize in kick ass versions of Carpenter’s songs like: We Have Only Just Begun, Long To Be Close To You, Abba’s Dancing Queen, SOS and for good measure Neil Sedaka’s Breaking Up Is Hard To Do. The volume and quality of our guitar mayhem generated by the three lead guitarists: Dave, Matt and John is unparalleled and drowns out any discernable vocals. Ouch!!!
South Georgia Overdrive is a living testimony to the fact that good old Southern Rock is still played well. Paying tribute to bands such as: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, Little Feat, the Allman Brothers, JD Blackfoot and the Georgia Satellites, SGO attracts, packs and rocks clubs all through the St. Louis metro area. SGO dabbles in the blues: Texas, Chicago and British versions as they cover famous blues artists such as Freddy King, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton and more.
South Georgia is available to play small to medium clubs, biker bars, Bat Mitzvahs, private parties, corporate functions, weddings and funerals. The band features Matt Davenport (Lead vocals and guitar), Dave Maragliano (guitar, vocals and harmonica), Kurt Sellmeyer (drums, percussion vocals), John Adams ( bass and vocals) and John Hanau (guitar). With much rock and roll in our hearts,
