. We chose Heifer because we believe in their concept. Rather than provide a family with a cup of milk, they are provided with a cow, a goat, or another livestock gift which gives them a sustainable source of food and income rather than a short term fix. Families are also provided training in farming and community development. Each family that receives assistance passes on the gift of one or more of the animals offspring to another family in need. Thus, your contribution goes on and on, and touches many families and many lives.

Hey all - just letting you know of a fundraiser for Heifer International happening this Friday, December 22 in northern Illinois. If anyone is in the area, we'd love to have you come out for a night of storytelling and song - all proceeds to be donated to Heifer.
