Something Phonetic

Something Phonetic consists of two members Vinh & his sister Denise. Some compare them to “The Carpenters” one of the only other brother/sister groups to command a worldwide audience. “Something Phonetic” brings music full circle with a more cutting edge sound, and heartfelt lyrics that is now uncommon in today’s industry. With their stunning live performances and defining sound “Something Phonetic” will be listened to, and admired for years to come.

Vinh Le: Was born in Raleigh, NC and at age 11,moved with his family to West Palm beach, Florida. Where he was first introduced to music in middle school as part of the school band. He first learned to play the guitar, and quickly picked up the piano, and euphonium. He continued his musical growth thru high school and college at Florida State University. Vinh then left FSU to join the marines, and later on decided to study recording engineering at Full Sail College in Orlando FL. This is where Vinh learned about making music not just playing it, He learned to create music from hip-hop, to jungle, and drum and bass, to classical, and jazz, which makes him an integral part of the Ashaman Family along with his sister and group member “Denise” he is finally doing what he was meant to do. Denise Le: Denise was born in Tallahassee, Fl. & grew up in West Palm Beach fl, where country music and Garth Brooks especially was an influence to her. Denise was later introduced to Hip Hop and R&B in her early teens, with classic rock ever present. These musical influences shaped the song writing, versatility, and vocal prowess of the young singer. Denise was born with a very unique and melodic voice, but she wanted to improve herself as an artist and therefore enrolled at ASM, for one year to learn how to play the piano, upon completing that task she then took private piano lessons for another four years to add to her already impressive repertoire. Denise now stands alone as one of the few new artists’ that can play the piano, and sing in the genres of Pop, R&B, Rock, and Alternative. Expect truthful, melodic, lyrics and time defining hits from this beautiful Songbird.

We have a live band so we primarily do live performances, Sofar we've only done shows in florida, but we are quickly branching out. I would say everytime we perform it's special we love what we do.

We listen to Jewel, Aaliyah,Mary J Blige, and pretty much anyone that does hip-hop/R&B,we also listen to all types of alternative like Incubus, and Radiohead, other influences are Coldplay, and Joe Satriani.

OUR PRE PRODUCTION STUDIO INCLUDES PROTOOLS 6.4 WITH DIGI DESIGN 888 INTERFACE AND CONTROL 24 MIXING CONSOLE.
