Blues General

Smokehouse Brown is a four-piece contemporary rock-blues band fron Hull England. Influenced by so many artists it would be impossible to list them all ranging from Robert Johnson, Skip James to BB King, Albert King to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore the bands range of music could be described as rock-blues but takes on it's own identity due to the vast experience & musical knowledge of the band.

Although 2005 saw a charity single released in aid of the Dove House Hospice, a live radio session for Kingstown radio on the John Wyle show and a few live dates the bulk of it was spent recording.

At the beginning of 2006 Smokehouse Brown will be looking for a permanent bassist & drummer and playing live around the country keeping an eye out for prospective record, publishing & management offers

Band/artist history

Smokehouse Brown came together in 1985 in the East Yorkshire city of Hull. Although they never went far, founder member Chris Lister never really gave up on the guitar driven Rock/Blues band and still believes they have something to add to the music scene. After a short reformation in 1990, riding on the Blues revival of that year, Smokehouse Brown were re-formed in early 2005.

Although Chris is the only original member left, the original power and rawness remain and given an extra edge by the rugged and emotional vocals of local singing talent Greg Harding.

Smokehouse Brown delivers high powered rock/blues with the added addition of emotional ballards and excellent accoustic tracks.

Following on from the excellent single Holy Mother comes this brilliant album that speaks for itself in the music. It's plainly clear these guys are accomplished performers that can deliver.

John Wiles, Kingstown Radio
