About Slim Tex
James Slim Tex Tatuem was born on April 9th 1987 in Hampton, Va. After his parents separated in 1991 he moved to Duncanville Texas where he lived with his mother, brother, and step-father. James realized early on that he had a love for music whether it was listening to hip hop, writing raps, or breakdancing with his friends after school. As he grew so did his interest in rapping. In 1998 Tex Relocated to Cedar Hill, Texas. He found that he was getting increasingly better putting bars together the more he practiced and actually started studying the albums of his favorite rappers (Jay-Z, Nas, Ludacris, Outkast, Biggie, Common Sense, Styles-P, & Eminem). By his sophomore year he was known by his peers as one of the best rappers in school and showed it through battling other students in the cafeteria. This was when he met a person who would turn out to be one of the most influential people in his life. Nathan Punchlines Madu, with whom Tex had a few classes with, had heard some of Jamess music and wanted to collaborate on some tracks, As they conversed about music and in what direction its going they realized they had a lot in common artistically. What started out as collaboration turned into a full fledged hip-hop duo; T3: Tha Throwed Tag Team. Soon recognized as the nicest rappers in school they began making mixtapes regularly and even though their music was recorded on the most basic of equipment they soon had sold hundreds of copies and were creating a buzz among the towns hip-hop community. After Graduation from Cedar Hill High School in 2005, Tex Continued to rap and as he did his form kept growing and reshaping itself. Tex and Punchlines promised each other that if one makes it, they would return to put the other on as well. In the fall of 2005 Tex started attending Texas Southern University. He dubbed himself Slim Teeze da Banga for his ability to make a Bangin track out of any instrumental or beat. Since then he has Dropped Two Mixtapes which he sold hand to hand around his city and school. He has since taken a break from college in order to pursue his music but vows to return when he is ready. Tired of mixtapes Slim has decided to put out his first Independent Lp with the help of Derrick London, Slims long time friend and fan of his music, which he has made his personal manager. Slim Tex has always referred to himself not as a rapper but as a student of the game and believes that once the industry realizes his talent he will be able to put all of his hard learned lessons to good use.Have you performed in front of an audience?yea im open for shows...juss go through my people
