Shoehouse is a three-piece indie rock band featuring Bill Taylor (lead vocals & guitar), Mark Miraflor (percussion), and Eric O'Connor (backing vocals & bass). Formed in 2001, Shoehouse has been constantly striving to reach new sonic heights. With an eye on the bottom line as well as the listener, this power trio attacks you from all sides at once in an overwhelming rush of sound and emotion. Shoehouse endeavor to bring the rock to the people, and some originality and energy into the scene.
Band/artist history
Bill Taylor formed Shoehouse after his former band Peppercorn broke up. He brought Mark Miraflor along from Peppercorn and enlisted Eric O'Connor from Magnetic Health Factory.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Shoehouse has been playing live in the San Francisco Bay Area (with occassional forays to southern California) for 2 years. We have played at venues such as Thee Parkside, Kimo's, Edinburgh Castle, Tongue & Groove, and the Stork Club.
Your musical influences
Our vision is the culmination of the band members varied musical interests. There are strong nods to Jawbreaker and Husker Du with some Simon and Garfunkel if you listen really hard.
What equipment do you use?
Bill plays Gibson guitars through a 100 watt Marshall Silver Jubilee with a 1960 lead 4x12 cab. Eric plays a Rickenbacher through a 400 watt GK head with a 4x10 and 1x15 cab. Marc plays various vintage drum kits.
