Shank Godley Butcher got sick of lugging bass amps and sleeping in vomit, so he gave up rock and bought an acoustic bass. The rest, as they say, is history.Band/artist history
I locked myself in a dark room for about a year. I had pen and paper, an acoustic bass and a 4-track. It was all about facing some pretty big mistakes and turning them into compositions. The style emerged and the songs came quickly - one every two days for about 3 months of that year. I got better at recording and finally nailed the production with 'Holding On' which has done well on a few MP3 charts. Since then, it's all been about matching that quality. The songs are still coming thick and fast.Have you performed in front of an audience?Very rarely. It tends to be an ordeal. The audience seems to like it a lot more than I do. it's one thing to write and record this stuff; it's another to actually perform it.
Your musical influences
I'm heavily influenced by the crooners I heard as a child: Perry Como, Andy Williams, Gene Pitney etc. Obviously the punk thing is still obvious because I like to unnerve people and destroy cohesion. When it gets close to perfect, i like to knock it over. My favourite self-destructive device is limiting myself to 3 takes when I record vocals. Obviously, there are going to be imperfections and that's what I'm going for - the unnerving but very human qualities of music - in other words, the mistakes.What equipment do you use?
Epiphone Segundo, BR-532, African drums, some crappy mic and my mac for a few basic string and piano sounds.Anything else?

Ah, a fellow twisted person in music. Greetings! I do very much like your style, it's dark. Simple melody lines, your lyric style is to the point, and they make a huge impact (well on me, anyway) I did add the comedown to my station. I respect the fact that you're not afraid to write about this kind of stuff, as well as your ability to make it feel "real".
