Hello you crazy little folk! we are Second ashes! were more a pop punk band than anything, but we like to erge in other genres such as ska, skaXcore, punk, cheesy emo and anything else we can to make our music sound that little bit better! i guess we started the band sometime last year in maybe april.. yes thats (2004) and we started off as a " 3 peice lyric-less play punk /jam band. we just wanted to pass some time away for the shitty weather in Rotherham. we played every week or so in our drummers shed. yes it was so lovely. alately the practice room has been knocked down and re-built but thats not gunna stop us cos since the day we aqquired our big ol' bass player Andrew Precious 'aka Presh.. we have been non stop trying our asses off to let people hear our stuff. if you like it then thats cool.. and if you dont then well.. feel free to send us hate mail. we like to snap strings and bust amps (thats what were best at) but we have recorded a few CD's and got t-shirts, mugs, jigsaws... (Yes!! Jigsaws!!) and a whole load of funky merch that is going to be out there soon!! just keep your eyes open!if you wanna hear us. our other addresses are www.myspace.com/secondashes and we are currently constructing our website which will be under as www.secondashes.tk .. we have no record deal.. (like were good enough for one) but if you go to our shows your guarenteed to be dancing by the end of the night. wehave gigged with a range of bands including : mybe, fastlane, fandangle, aftershock (USA), route 215, the fuckwitz, four foot fingers and so many more that we just couldnt be arssed to write! so come visit us.. it will be fun! and if your willing to book us a gig in england (anywere) we will try our hardest to come and play at a show neer you.. we are currently booking gigs all about the place such as : Rotherham, sheffield, doncaster, leeds, liverpool, manchester and newcastle. but if your not neer any of these places then contact us and drag our arses to your town! we will try our very hardest to make it!Band/artist history
meh. we started out as a 3 peice play punk / jam band. played a gig at our school. aqquired a bassist. played some bigger gigs, and then made a new CD. and then played a few more gigs. and then got a little more well known, and then wrote a new song, and then played a few more gigs. and then took photos of gigs.. and here we are now.. lol! there was a whole lot more to the experience but i suppose if i wrote everything that happened for like a year then i'd bore you..Have you performed in front of an audience?i think this was already said! but yeh we play gigs anywere we can get to. we love every single gig we play! (even the really shit ones) i think one of the most rememberable gig was when we first played as a four peice at school and the bass string snapped about 30 seconds before we played.. so we had to break into the music room of our school and pinch a bass string. teehee *we apologise Oakwood school* but that was a very scary yet fun stage in our life so far!
Your musical influences
our musical influences make such a long list. i think the main few would be.. blink 182, fall out boy, millencolin, metallica, sum 41, reel big fish, taking back sunday, funeral for a friend, box car racer, disarm and greenday. these are the main bands that have influenced us all to start out in the first place. although we dont sound like many of the music in there, we get alot of inspiration from each of the bands.What equipment do you use?
erm. Scott - Randall RG100SC amp, vintage metal axxe wraith and westone custom model guitars! Alex - Fender Stage 160 amp, fender jagstang and fender mexican stratocaster guitars! Andrew - Fender Rumble 100 amp, Squire P-bass guitar! Adam - Pearl export selective drum kit, paiste 101 cymbals and a pearl double bass pedal!Anything else?
