Several Scorch snippets displaying devastating dynamics from "Faces".

Remember Remember
Remember As an older family member passes away, a hole once filled suddenly becomes empty. Infuriated by this passing of life, only regrets are recollected. Eventually nothing is left but the reality of death and the inevitable past.

MindRaper MindRaper
Telepathy takes on a whole new meaning. Instead of mutually exchanging ideas, one's mind is unknowingly read and brainwashed. The implantation and abduction of thoughts takes place through mind control.
Band/artist history
"I unleashed the anger and energy that I built up inside," snarls
Scorch
singer Russ Meuchel on "Face," the epic title track from the band's
debut
CD, FACES. Meuchel, the Ibanez-wielding guitar god, formed Scorch in
1998
along with diabolical drummer Dave Arvo. Russ is theoretically savvy
on the
many instruments he plays. Meticulous in his writing, he crafted both
guitar parts as well as bass guitar and keyboard on the CD recording.
As a
kid, Meuchel's musical personality was forged by the finest of the
thrash
metal bands like Metallica, Pantera and Slayer, whose graphic lyrics
explore
the distressing depths of the everyday world. Themes like anguish,
suffering and the afterlife delivered on a sonic freight train of
guitars
and drums appealed to Meuchel's sensibilities. It was only a matter of
time
before he began to craft his own poisonous and powerful lyrics. He
wrote
relentlessly throughout 1994, and he picked up his first guitar in
December
1995.
"I practiced for three hours every single day for months, just working
on
building my speed, technique, understanding of scales and doing every
possible combination of finger & string patterns." In August of 1996,
Meuchel's guitar teacher turned him on to the Ibanez Universe 7-string
guitar. Armed with what he dubs "the ultimate instrument," Meuchel
joined
his first band, Coma, and learned to play their existing originals as
well
as covering songs by Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura, and Slayer. Getting
a
taste for the solidarity of being in a band, and the rush of playing
for
clamoring live audiences, Meuchel set about seeking a new project when
Coma
broke up.
The fates were kind, and the members of Scorch came together from
various
and sundry projects of their own. Dave has been long standing on drums
since
1998. Shawn Farrell and Todd Wolfe (percussionists) joined in 2000,
giving
Scorch its triple drummer identity. Shawn & Todd each performed their
own
parts and contributed to the textured percussion on the CD recording.
In
January 2003, Nik Proper replaced Todd on percussion and added intense
live
backing vocals. As time passed, Nik switched to bass guitar and John
Noteware III took over the percussion role. After numerous member
changes
on the second guitar slot, Emilio Diaz has taken over this position
since
March 2003.

MindRape....Interesting...good mix with E-drums along with panning of effects. overall nice mix good stereo imaging...Chill out (just a tad) on the vocal chorus effect His voice dosent need to be doubled or "thickened" so heavy * Remember, seems pretty emotional, I think (personally) Id pull out the vocal FX...let your singer put emotions through his lyrics. Ya I know what your thinking "Dude, were a f***ing MET'L band!" I'm just saying the song has deep meaning...See if it can be remixed with out the vocal effects...Can your singer "sing" ?
Your guitar tracking is pretty good I could offer up suggestions if you would like? Oh hey, my names JD I'm a studio engineer (owner) Katz Meow studios and record lable Katz Klawz and infoumous drummer in the Pacific N.W. I was checking the MET'L catigory and said "what the hell" give it a listen. Good music damn near metal progressive with so much time & pattern changes...I like it, Continueed Success,
JD
