Born & raised in Philadelphia started playing guitar around 16 but started getting heavily into poetry and eventually was possessed by hip-hop. In the beginning it was just "Joey Z" and then the first "alter ego" was spawned, "Skinny Joey", after Philly Mob boss "Skinny" Joey Merlino. Once the serious side started to come out and songs like "My Life, My Pain" were showing the true man, Sarz was born. Now having lived in the Chicago area for about 7 years, Sarz has stepped up his game with every batch of songs.
A Studio freak!
Sarz averages about 3 songs a day when he's able to record. His record is 60 songs in 2 months back in January of 2011. Whenever he puts that mic on he's got tons to say and while he hopes people enjoy the songs his ultimate goal is to be able to inspire people to think when they listen and hopefully get what he's trying to say. "I think music should be free too, imagine what this world would be like if a so called "artist" just painted, wrote, sang, performed....just to do it, just because it's who they were. Treat it like a church, allow people to donate for listening but do away with the mindset that "success" in music is measured by how much money an artist rakes in. A lot of these groups and artists out there really suck today and there are millions of artists much more talented that should be able to get some of that worldwide exposure and support from the mainstream. But the wealthy hog the limelight, it should be a crime honestly...That's why you see MANY artists that finally made it then a couple albums later you notice a change in them. Some artists stay the same and true to their fans, these are the ones that are usually counted out as sell outs and has-beens.
"I don't put up any fronts either, I am true to myself and what you see/hear is what you get! I am ALL about revolution, revolution for all people and all races, ONE NATION! I posted some blogs, check'em out and see where I'm comin from."
"Right now I'm workin off my computer recording my shit with mixcraft I am sorry for the way my vocals sounds right now but listen to the words and hear what I have to say...and if ya do, BLAZE to it!Have you performed in front of an audience?I haven't done a live show yet but I am definitely working on putting something together. I want to do something before this world blows up at the end of the year.
Your musical influences
Tupac, Eminem, Dr Dre, Game, Public Enemy, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, David Gilmour, Bob MarleyWhat equipment do you use?
just mixcraft and a condensor mic i got off amazon...just purchased Dubturbo to start working on making my own beats, I've made a few so far but I gotta give it to all you producers out there, you guys work hard to make some really nice beats. Request of you, if you don't mind donating beats to me for my cause I would be very appreciative. I am NOT here to make money so no need to worry about any of that. If there's anything you would need like if you want some vocals on a track I would be happy to work with ya. Let's change the world
