"Society wants to believe it can identify evil people, or bad or harmful people, but it's not practical. There are no stereotypes. The thing is that some people are just psychologically less ready for failure than others." -- Ted Bundy
SAD MACHINE: To emulate emotion, to seem more human. To feel what is not natural, but is needed for the situation. i.e. a person suffering from Anti-Social Disorder.
Forged from the framework of two seminal Vegas bands, and fueled by the desire to achieve a new level of existence, SAD MACHINE, has become a juggernaut force behind a new movement of music.
"what are we fighting for?" combat
If you were to disassemble SAD MACHINE, one realizes that the mechanism that drives it to become great, is nothing more than sheer unbridled emotion.
To set the forward movement in motion, we must first define SAD MACHINE, as nothing more than that. A machine. The individual parts that make up the machine are the true "heart" of it.
Assembled in the summer of 2002, SAD MACHINE, brought together the seperate elements needed to create a new form of music.
"circling, like vultures, waiting till i am dead" so much for rest
Brothers, guitarists Michael Miller (22) and Joey Oday (18), had been writing together since their mid teens, revamping their style to a melodic and relentless attack. Taking you from one emotional peak to another, Michael and Joey, interweave a brash harshness over a calm serenity.
Tommy Silvas (19, drums) relocated to Las Vegas from El Paso, Texas, in 1999. In search of a band, he answered an ad, and soon joined the brothers in their group, Skyler. The wheels of the machine began to roll. With piston like precision, and thunderous beats, Tommy has become one of the most aggressive drummers in Vegas.
"exploding from within is this desire to destroy all you've worked hard for...." stillframe
At the beginning of 2001, Skyler disbanded. While the brothers continued to hone their style, Tommy went on a hunt for a new project. Having tired of the Detroit scene, Matt Houchin ( 23, bass), packed up and moved to Las Vegas, leaving everything he knew behind, and eventually meeting the acquaintance of Tommy. Dropping to the floor, with sub-sonic fury, and forceful rhythms, Matt's bass lines can, and will, pummel those who stand in his way.Matt and Tommy , reunited with Michael and Joey, and began writing what would become the foundation of SAD MACHINE.
While still ironing out the glitches, Tommy and Matt, formed another group, By the Fall. With former Pull vocalist Schwab (24), this would be the final link in the origin of the machine. A harder, more abrasive, version of SAD MACHINE, By the Fall was a turning point for Schwab. By blending his raw lyrics and soothing melodies, with a more aggressive, no-holds-barred, style, Schwab unleashed a brutal, yet remorseful approach to a genre, that was used to ramming it down your throat.
"i'll pick up the pieces, and find myself again" see how they run
Thus SAD MACHINE was born.
