Band/artist history
RUSE came together one night at a party that combined DJ Segue (Geordy Carson) and Jason Morris (Ahymnsa) playing a mixture of sampled beats manipulated live against skilled keyboard and bass chops, fabricating an electro-funk, house/breaks groove. Tobias Meis added his classically trained upright bass and provided a deep thread and jazz element the music needed. Jeremy Wolfe (standard and fretless bass) became part of the group a couple of months later, adding a highly influential element of funk.
This project is still being conceived, aiming at adding other musicians (vocalist, turntablist, horns) to acheive a mix of live instrumentalists creating electronic music with a funky, organic feel.Have you performed in front of an audience?RUSE currently plays live in the Calgary, AB area, and will soon be branching out to include other nearby areas in 2004.
